My inspiration.
“Inspiration” is defined as “something that makes someone want to do something or that gives someone an idea about what to do or create : a force or influence that inspires someone.” Each day, my list of inspirations for running the Boston Marathon grows longer and longer.
As I mentioned previously, one main source of inspiration for me is my Patient Partner – Jack. Being just 13 and having already dealt with more than most people will have to deal with in their entire lives, Jack is truly an inspiration. And, he’s just one example. The entire BCH Miles for Miracles team runs for patients just like Jack. Our efforts go toward helping the hospital give them the care and treatment they need to get well.
I just recently came across a video the hospital created around the Patient Partner Program. I think it does an amazing job of bringing the Patient Partner Program to life, and bringing inspiration to the Miles for Miracles runners. Here’s the link to the short video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2dRo9Bp25g&feature=youtu.be
My supporters are another major source of inspiration for me. Whether it’s words of encouragement, high fives, donations to my run, or one of the many other ways to show support – this means a whole lot to me. I am especially grateful for those people who have made a contribution to my run. Each time I receive a notification stating, “Someone made a donation on your behalf” I get even more inspired. These people are putting their faith in me, and supporting the cause I am running for.
If you’d like to contribute to my run and help Boston Children’s Hospital change the lives of kids, donations can be made here: http://www.milesformiracles.org/goto/vdigirolamo. High fives and words of encouragement are also very much appreciated. Thank you in advance for all of your support!
